The North-West University (NWU) online applications for the 2025 academic year, are now available for individuals interested in pursuing new undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications. The application window for NWU runs from April 1st down to 31st August 2024. All applicants, regardless of nationality or language, are encouraged to apply. The North-West University (NWU) is a South African public research institution situated across three campuses in Potchefstroom, Mahikeng, and Vanderbijlpark. Established in 2004 through the amalgamation of the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, which had a rich history dating back to 1869 and a branch in Vanderbijlpark, and the University of North-West (formerly the University of Bophuthatswana), NWU quickly became one of South Africa’s largest universities, boasting the third largest student population in the nation across both full-time and distance learning programs.
NWU Online Application Closing Dates
NWU online application window remains open from the 1st of April down to the 31st of August. So prospective students who wish to be a part of the institution by 2025 should start applying, now that the institutions still accepts applications as no late application will be accepted.

- After clicking the apply here button you will be required to create an application profile
- After creating your application profile, log in to the application dash board and begin your application process.
- The application process may include: presentation methods, qualification type, campus choice, two study choices, upload of previous high school information and all others.
- make sure to fill in the application properly and don’t forget to save your progress before you proceed to the next page.
N/B: You can only apply once for the academic year. Choose up to two study options that align with your goals and interests.

What will I need before I can apply – minimum requirements?
- A valid, unique, and personal email address.
- You will need to register with this email address before you can apply. Your email address will also be used as your username and will be used to log in to your application profile after you have registered.
- You will also receive a temporary password at first and after you have changed it, you will always use your email address and new password to log onto your application profile.
Prepare the documents that you need to electronically upload:
- Keep your ID document and final Grade 11 or 12 results handy in digital format.
- The documents must be individually scanned as they are uploaded separately. Preferably available as PDF, jpeg, etc.
