How to Apply to UKZN 2025

The University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) online applications for the 2025 academic year, are now available for individuals interested in pursuing new undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications. The application window for UFS runs from April 1st down to 30th September 2024. All applicants, regardless of nationality or language, are encouraged to apply. UKZN Online Application closing dates

The application window for the University of KwaZulu Natal is now open but the closing dates has also been made available so make sure you apply before the deadline.

Medicine Closing Date : 30 June 2024
All other Undergraduate Programmes Closing Date: 30 September 2024

UKZN Online Application process

The application process to the University of KWaZulu Natal (UKZN) is done online. Read the guide below carefully so that you will not make mistakes during your application.

UKZN Undergraduate Application procedures for 1st time
South African Applicants

All first-time South African applicants to UKZN for entry into degree study in the first semester (February) of an academic year (Grade12s as well as undergraduate transfer students from other institutions) must apply via the Central Applications Office (CAO).

International Applicants

Application for admission to fulltime undergraduate and postgraduate studies must be made directly to UKZN at www.ukzn.ac.za

No late applications for international students

Online applications

The UKZN has developed an online application system. The following applicants must apply online at www.ukzn.ac.za:

Postgraduate and international applicants;
Internal transfer students (students that are currently registered at UKZN and wish to transfer to another qual)
Returning former UKZN undergraduate Applicants;

Manual applications

The following applications must be made manually directly to UKZN:

Applicants for non-degree studies.
New applicants applying for admission to Semester 2 (August).

Consult with UKZN on the availability of spaces in programs before submitting applications for Semester 2.
